On this day we express gratitude and appreciation for our parents, ancestors and all sentient beings. There will be a special Ancestor/Deceased Memorial Prayer Ceremony in the afternoon.
This event is open to the public and no registration is required. All are welcome to come and celebrate those who have lived before us.
Event Description
This is the day when we express gratitude and pray for our parents, ancestors and all sentient beings who are suffering.
Part of the ceremony includes distributing silk roses to everyone present. A rose is given to recognize our parents and the role they had in our lives. If both parents are alive a Red rose is given; Pink if only one is alive; and a White rose if both are deceased. Wearing the rose on our lapels is a reminder of their love and importance in our lives, whether living or not.
